PROTOS was founded in 2017 by Mike Gyde’ and Pete Daniel. The two have worked together for decades in advanced avionics display technologies and model-based development software solving the more difficult problems of graphic performance, reduced development and maintenance costs, platform flexibility, certification costs, and reuse. After developing tooling for others in the industry (Format Designer, iData, IGL, PGL, iDataMap), it was time to create a suite of tools for the open development community to utilize. UP takes advantage of increased processor speeds and removes the dependency on ever-changing hardware and OS requirements.

The PROTOS UP UI Modeler Suite was developed by Advanced Flight Deck Software Engineers with a passion for developing a tool to support full life cycle embedded user interface graphics from rapid prototyping through certified deployment on diverse sets of operating systems and hardware platforms.
